Hot Chili Oil

  • 2 cups Peanut Oil (or similar high-heat oil)
  • ½ cup Chili Flakes
  • 2 Tbs Paprika
  • 2 Tbs Ground Korean Chili
  • 2 Tbs Sliced Ginger Root
  • 2 Tbs Sichuan Pepper, roasted and ground
  1. Prepare all ingredients in separate bowls in advance
  2. Prepare a warm glass container to receive hot oil. Make sure it is dry
  3. Place chili flake, paprika, Korean chili, and Sichuan pepper in jar
  4. Heat oil to 250 to 280 degrees F on stove. Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature
  5. Remove from heat and add ginger. Allow to sizzle briefly (seconds).
  6. Pour infused oil into jar with remaining ingredients and stir two to three times. Allow to cool and cap.
